Still Life of Dead Leaves
prints on archival paper
During lockdown, I turned to the quiet presence of dead leaves as a symbol of fragility, isolation, and resilience. Capturing their delicate decay through still life photography became a meditation on time, loss, and renewal. Each leaf, once vibrant, now lifeless, holds a story of transformation—echoing the stillness and uncertainty of the world during this period.
“Just like the dry leaf can crumble at the slightest pressure, so can our mind.”
By focusing on the textures, shapes, and muted tones of the leaves, I sought to find beauty in impermanence, reflecting the transient nature of life and the quiet strength in enduring hardship. Through these images, I invite contemplation on cycles of life and the small moments of grace that persist even in times of stillness and isolation.
